HOPE fit kids was started in the Summer of 2015 by the Mayes County HOPE Coalition who partnered with Mayes County Health Department, Cherokee Nation, and Pryor Creek Recreation Center to offer this free fitness program to kids age 7-14 years old.

Fit Kids focuses on teaching kids the basics of how to work out and maintain a healthy/active lifestyle, as well as how to make good nutritional choices.  They adopted and taught Cherokee Nation's 5210-Let's Go! program.  Participants were encouraged to eat 5 fruits & vegetables a day, limit their screen time to 2 hours daily, get at least 1 hour of physical activity every day, and drink 0 sugary drinks and have 0 tobacco use.
